An ongoing activity (not a formal Scrum event) to add detail, estimates, and ordering to Product Backlog items.
Scrum doesn't mandate a specific event; teams typically dedicate 5–10% of Sprint capacity. LeSS and Nexus add multi-team refinement events for cross-team coordination.
